Finding Joy in the Little Things — Especially When You’re Alone

Hey love,
I want to talk to you about something I hold really close to my heart: finding joy in the little things.
Not the big milestones or perfect days — but the small, quiet moments that often go unnoticed.
The ones that belong just to you.
For me, one of those moments is dancing. I’m not talking about performing or being on stage. I mean dancing in my room, barefoot, music turned up, sunlight pouring in — hips swaying, arms moving, heart open. No one watching. No one needing anything from me. Just me, my body, and the rhythm.

And maybe for you, it’s something else. Maybe it’s cooking your favorite meal, painting, singing in the shower, walking through the park, or curling up with a book you’ve read five times already. Maybe it’s that quiet moment with a cup of tea when the world slows down just enough for you to feel peace.
We often think joy has to be shared to be valid — like we need someone else there to witness it for it to count. But I’ve come to realize that some of the most powerful, healing joy we experience is the kind we feel when we’re alone. Because in those moments, you’re not really alone. You’re with your best company: yourself.
There’s something sacred about letting yourself enjoy what you love, without needing anyone to approve or join in. It’s a kind of self-love that doesn’t wait for permission. It just is.
I used to feel a little weird about dancing by myself. Was it silly? Was it sad? But over time, I started to see it as medicine. A moment where I could move through emotions, celebrate life, or just reconnect with my own energy. It became my way of saying, “I’m here. I’m alive. And this moment is mine.”
So if there’s something that lights you up — something that brings even the tiniest spark of joy — don’t hold back. Don’t wait for company. Don’t wait for the perfect setting. Just do it. Laugh out loud at your favorite show. Wear the dress you love, even if no one sees it. Dance like the music was made for you. Because maybe it was.
The more we allow ourselves to enjoy these little things, the more we realize how full life already is. And in doing so, we become our own safe space — a place where joy is always welcome.
You’re not alone in this. You’re with you. & that’s beautiful company.
Have you ever had a moment like that — something simple that made your heart light up, even if you were the only one there to feel it?
Maybe it was dancing in your kitchen, singing in the car, walking slowly with the sun on your face, or smiling at something only you noticed. These moments matter. They’re not small at all. They’re sacred.
If you feel called, I’d love for you to share your joy in the comments below.
What’s something that brings you happiness, just for you?
Your joy is a part of your medicine — and your story might just be the reminder someone else needs today.
So go ahead.
Share your light. ✨
